friends of banyule
Friends of Banyule, (FoB), is a not-for-profit community organisation founded in 2008. We campaign for the protection of the natural environment and heritage and advocate for better environmental outcomes, better planning for improved neighbourhood liveability and for sustainable transport across Banyule.
We work with residents, community groups, Banyule Council and the State Government to get better environmental and social outcomes arising from planning decisions and major infrastructure projects impacting Banyule
Our Objectives
- Advocate to Government: Local, State and Federal to ensure improved accountability and transparency for sound environmental and planning decisions
- Share information about the North East Link Project, Victoria's largest road project
- Promote sustainable living and use of resources.
- Encourage our local community to be active in conservation.
- Advocate to Government at all levels to keep them accountable for environmental decision making.
- List Item
While the Society has longstanding credibility in the community, with Banyule City Council and other government bodies, becoming a member lends weight to our actions when we advocate for protection and improvement of our environment.
